This bachelor thesis deals with an agricultural insurance. The introductory part of the bachelor thesis analyses the risk with a focus on the agricultural risks. The following is a description of insurance types and description of historical development of agriculture insurance within territory of the Czech Republic. Another part is focused on the development of crop and livestock insurance between 2007 and 2016. The next chapters deal with the state support for agricultural insurance and overview of agricultural insurance companies operating in the Czech Republic. The last part is concerned with drought and the possibility of insuring this risk.

Agricultural insurance in the Czech Republic and evaluation of its efficiency in chosen enterprises

This Bachelor Thesis deals with the issue of agricultural insurance in the Czech
Republic and its subsequent evaluation of its efficiency in four chosen enterprises. This
type of insurance has its specific market position, mainly due to occasional extreme
weather conditions. That is the reason, why an insurance plays an important role
in the agricultural business. The first part of the thesis deals with the history of agricultural
insurance, definition of the insurance concept and its functions, familiarization with
the specific insurance types and finally with an approach of the state´s role in agricultural
insurance support. Furthermore it includes a summary of agricultural insurance products
of insurance institutions at the current insurance market. The second part of The Bachelor
Thesis is devoted to the efficiency evaluation of contractual insurance of chosen
enterprises. The data are arranged into the time series, namely into eleven years and five
years. There are also briefly described the concrete insured events and vividly pointed
the state support amount through the subsidies.

Agricultural insurance

This thesis deals with risks threatening agricultural activity, with agricultural insurance and with state aid to agricultural insurance in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, it describes history and development of agricultural insurance in the Czech Republic. Under this chapter is explored dependence of the premium on selected factors. The attention is also paid to agricultural insurance schemes in 16 selected countries of the world. Consequently, there are proposed possible suggestions of improvement of current agricultural insurance system in the Czech Republic with regard to foreign practice. The supply of crop insurance including a practical example of farmer using crop insurance in his risk management is concisely described in the end of the thesis.

Dealing with the risks in crop production by commercial insurance

The main purpose of this thesis is dealing with the risks in crop production by commercial insurance. The paper provides description of the occurrence and form of the risks in crop production and agricultural insurance as one of the ways of the protection against them. It analyzes the development of crop insurance from 1986 to present, discusses how statutory insurance was provided by the state insurance company until 1990 and also presents the current form of commercial insurance, including a detailed comparison of offers according to the relevant insurance conditions. The next part of the thesis is focused on the government subsidies on agricultural insurance operated in the Czech Republic. The last part of this thesis describes possible trends of future strategies of risk management in the agricultural business including uninsurable risks. These possible trends are presented and discussed in several models.

It describes the occurrence and form of the risks in agriculture and agricultural insurance as one of the ways of the protection against them. It briefly describes the development of agricultural insurance in the territory of today's Czech Republic and after that the characteristics of the crop and livestock insurance in the last ten years. Another part of the work is focused on the government subsidies on agricultural insurance operated in the Czech Republic. The largest part of this bachelor thesis is focused on describing and comparing the insurance terms and conditions of the three major insurers in the market of agricultural insurance in the Czech Republic (České pojišťovna a.s., Generali Pojišťovna a.s., Agra pojišťovna).

The possibilities in the animal insurance and the situation in the Czech market

The bachelor thesis deals with the insurance of various animal species and analyzes the present situation and supply of Czech insurance companies. The first chapter briefly describes risks which follow from breeding of animals in general. Next chapter is focused on analysis of the livestock insurance which is the part of agricultural insurance. The farming business depends on weather and it causes its high risk rate. In occur of chance event farmer should bankrupt and it can have the negative effect on rural population. In spite of that the government provides subsidies on agricultural insurance and motivates farmers for an active risk management. An attitude of the government to the livestock insurance is in the thesis mentioned more closely. Also the horse insurance is considered. The last chapter is concerned with dog and cat insurance with emphasis on "life and health" insurance. Pet life and health insurance is in Czech Republic offered since 2007. Assumption is that its popularity is going to increase and because of that the supply of pet insurance will also increase.

The analysis of the agricultural insurance in the Czech insurance market

The agricultural insurance represents a specific segment of the insurance market. It is caused by high risks in the agricultural production, low interest from insurers to provide this service and by the necessity of state subsidies. The first part of the thesis explains, how is the agricultural insurance constructed, which risks influence the agricultural production and how the state participation functions. The second part is focused on a premium written. This part includes an analysis of its development and of the position of agricultural insurance in the Czech insurance market. The last part offeres a schedule of products of agricultural production provided on the insurance market in the Czech Republic.

Zemědělské pojištění je v dnešní době nedílnou a velmi důležitou součástí eliminace rizik zemědělského pojištění. Zemědělská výroba je stále více ohrožována nenadálými projevy klimatu, které s sebou mohou přinést katastrofické škody. Jednou z mála možností jak se těmto škodám bránit je zemědělské pojištění. Ve své práci se věnuji zemědělskému pojištění jak obecně tak z pohledu nabídky konkrétních pojistných produktů na našem trhu.
